1. Do not send money outside Locals. Be cautious of any requests or offers to send money outside the Locals platform. Transactions should be conducted through secure and trusted channels within the platform to minimize the risk of fraudulent activities.
2. Protect your personal information. Safeguard your personal information such as your full name, address, phone number, and financial details. Avoid sharing sensitive information with unknown or unverified users online.
3. Use Locals for safe communications. Utilize the communication features provided by Locals to interact with other users. Avoid sharing personal contact details or switching to external messaging platforms until you are confident about the trustworthiness of the other party.
4. Report all suspicious behavior. If you come across any suspicious behavior, scams, or potential fraudulent activities on the Locals platform, promptly report them to the platform administrators. Reporting such incidents can help protect others from falling victim to scams.
5. Protect your account. Take necessary measures to secure your Locals account. Create a strong, unique password and regularly update your account credentials. Avoid sharing your account details with anyone or using the same password across multiple platforms.

Locations & safety

1. When meeting another member in person, take precautions. Get to know the other person online first, trust your instincts, and use common sense.
2. Choose safe meeting locations. We recommend meeting in public spaces and that you don’t use your private home as an activity location, unless its a close circle of friends who you know well and trust.
3. Prioritize safety through communication. Always let someone else know who you are meeting and your plans, and ensure you check in with that other person before and after the meeting so they know you are safe.
