Your profile

This is your presentation card in the community. Make sure you make it look interesting, full and authentic. Here at locals.org we create a community of real people so we expect you to use your real pictures. Fake profiles, abusive or inappropriate content and behaviour may cause your profile to be suspended and deactivated. We care a lot about safety and trust that’s why we verify all the profiles to make sure everybody is real, safe and respectful.

Donations

Supporting global and local causes is one of the core values of the locals.org community. That’s why we enable our users to fundraise for a charity of their choice with their activities. We work with Make My Donation Inc., a 501(c)3 non profit US Corporation, is positioned to be a world leader in making charitable giving part of the fabric of the human spirit. We work with mobile application developers and other strategic partners to bring donors and charities together, forming a financial bond that has changed the way charitable giving is made around the globe.

If the host accepts your request subject to his activity participant acceptance criteria, your donation is sent to the charity automatically and we cannot offer refunds. If your request is not accepted by the host within 3 days, it will expire and you won’t be charged anything.

There is no obligation to participate in the activity if your plans change, your donation will be sent to the cause in any scenario and your impact will be counted.

Refunds of Donations

Your donation is final once your request has been accepted by the Creator. It is then sent on to the chosen charity and at this point, no refunds can be issued.

Chats & language

Once a request to join an experience is accepted, the app will automatically create a chat between accepted experience participants. This is a private space to chat, get to know each other a bit better and finalise experience details.

Communication in chats is also subject to our requirements of respect and appropriate language and content sharing. Locals.org has no access to your private chats but we encourage and enable community members to report any inappropriate behaviour or language. Host may delete you from chat for any inappropriate behaviour or language.

PAID ACTIVITY

How do I create a paid activity?

To create a paid activity, firstly you will need to activate your stripe account with Locals. Then you’ll need to click the Create activity button on your profile tab. You’ll need to fill in a few fields, including name, description, date, location, price, number of guests and explain the format for your activity.
