Creating Activities

At Locals.org, you can connect with others through real-life activities. Within the app, you have the option to explore activities organized by fellow community members and request to join them. Additionally, you can create your own activity and invite others to join you!

An activity can be anything you enjoy doing or would like to try, and you're seeking like-minded individuals to participate. It can be a group activity or a one-on-one experience.

When creating an activity, it's important to provide accurate and complete information. Enhance your experience by including relevant images and videos, and ensure the activity description includes details such as the date, location, any associated costs, and special instructions, if applicable. Please note that inappropriate or abusive content or language will result in a ban from the app and deactivation of your account, so let's be mindful and respectful.

When creating an activity, we expect that you genuinely want to connect with people who request to join. Furthermore, we hope you share our mission of fostering meaningful connections and creating memorable real-life experiences.

Recommendations for Participant Acceptance Criteria

When accepting users into your activity, please consider the following criteria:

  1. Compatibility: Ensure that the user's interests, preferences, or goals align with the purpose and nature of the activity. This helps create a more harmonious and enjoyable experience for all participants.
  2. Qualifications or Requirements: Determine if the user meets any specific qualifications or requirements necessary to participate in the activity. This could include age restrictions, skill levels, certifications, or physical capabilities.
  3. Knowledge and Expertise: Assess the user's understanding and expertise in the topic of the activity. Look for indications that they have relevant knowledge or experience to contribute meaningfully to discussions or activities related to the topic.
  4. Capacity: Consider the maximum number of participants your activity can accommodate. Accept users based on available spots to maintain a manageable and engaging experience for everyone involved.
  5. Engagement and Responsiveness: Prioritize users who demonstrate genuine interest and engagement in the activity. Look for indications that they will actively contribute and interact with other participants.
  6. Safety Considerations: Assess whether the user's participation poses any safety risks to themselves or others. If the activity involves physical exertion or potential hazards, ensure that the user is capable of participating safely.
  7. Promote Equality and Inclusion: Aim to create a diverse and inclusive community where individuals from all backgrounds, regardless of gender, race, or other factors, are welcomed and valued.

Remember to apply these criteria consistently and fairly when accepting users into your activity. By doing so, you can enhance the overall quality and enjoyment of the experience for all participants.

Change of plans

As a host, we encourage you to make every effort to ensure your experience takes place and has a positive impact. However, we understand that plans can change. In such cases, we recommend promptly communicating with the participants of your experience to discuss alternative arrangements.

As a guest, please inform the host if you anticipate being late or unable to attend the experience. You can always inquire if the experience will be offered again at a later time.
